Today’s Penny Arcade is amazing.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off as a LIFE-style classic board game.
also known as Words With Drunk Friends (WWDF), or
“the game I want to play as soon as possible, please”
To wit:
Every time a player plays a letter contained in the word SHOT, he/she does a shot of beer. However, if a player actually plays the word SHOT, the other players do shots of liquor.
At the end of every round, the player that has scored the fewest points in that round does a shot of beer.
If a word is successfully challenged, the player of the offending word, in addition to losing his/her turn, does a shot of liquor, while if a word is unsuccessfully challenged, the challenger does a shot of liquor and loses his/her turn.
If a player plays all seven of his/her letters, the other players do shots of liquor.
Finally, the player that wins the game, on the theory that he/she has won most of the rounds and so hasn’t drunk nearly enough, does a shot of liquor.
Success.

I think I need to do this to a side table… like, now.
I don’t think I’ve yet highlighted the amazing work at Vectorpark, a collection of inventive and beautiful flash-animated games. Of a sort. Go get lost and enjoy.
